Now it’s time to get serious, spring is in its prime and Venice blooms in full beauty. Well, Venice is always beautiful, in all seasons, and this much we know. But for those that love mild temperatures, the longer days and fervor during this time makes May a month worth visiting. Don’t expect a Venice with relatively few tourists like during the beginning of the year, expect to share the marvelous lagoon island with many other fans of this city.
May, the month of gardens and roses, brings with it many events connected to the Biennale Art 2017 VIVA ARTE VIVA, open to the public Saturday May 13th until the 26th of November, at the Giardini, Arsenale, and collateral events all located in various parts of the city. It is a perfect time to explore alleyways and unusual corners.
May marks another period, the Season of Remiera (Rowing) with the Mestre regatta the 14th as well as the regatta and Festa della Sensa the 28th of May. These events highlight the bond Venetians have with nature, their city, and territory.
It’s an ideal time to visit the islands of the lagoon, to fish and visit the corners hidden in this marvelous land. With the beautiful season you can rent a bike and cross the island of Lido stopping to visit the nice beaches or simply view Venice across the water, all the while exploring it at a slower pace.
Still displaying are the activities of Muve Contemporaneo, david LaChapelle Lost+Found until the 10th of September at the Casa dei tre Oci, Ettore Sottsass:il vetro at Stanze del Vetro until the 30th of July.
