Venice and the Music at the Squero’s Auditorium

There is a magical place in Venice, where the water and the music meet, where traditions of the past and present meld in a sublime and poetic way: The auditorium at the Squero on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. To witness a concert in the open spaces is an experience that you won’t easily forget, especially for those who love to uncover new perspectives and unconventional sights.

The auditorium at “Lo Squero” is an old workshop at one time meant to repair large boats and later transformed into a modern and evocative auditorium, thanks to the intervention of architects Cattaruzza and Millosevich. It’s almost a mystical area, thanks to the atmosphere of the island, but also for its large windows that directly face the water, elongating the view of the San Marco basin and the Gardens of the Biennale all the way to the island of Lido.

It’s a real “belvedere” panorama of the city and the lagoon that unites marvelously with the concert season making fans of music happy. There will be 12 concerts on the calendar for the 2018 season in the Auditorium “Lo Squero” by the Girogio Cini Foundation, complete with collaborations of Asolo Music and The Association Amici della Musica.

It’s an occasion without comparison to discover a different Venice and a marvelous island like San Giorgio. Here you can find the program for the 2018 Auditorium “Lo Squero.”
